SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — This week on Inside Utah Politics, we look at energy policy and the biggest concerns among Utah voters.

The Utah Foundation’s Chris Collard joins the show to share insights into the issues that are top of mind for Utah voters. From housing to political discourse, the Utah Foundation asked voters to rank issues based on their perceived importance. The data that came back shines a light on where voters stand. Collard explains the findings (Priced Out and Fed Up: Cost of Living and Government Dysfunction are Voters’ Top Issues – Utah Foundation).

Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm joins Inside Utah Politics for the first time. She was recently in Utah to announce federal investments in power grid expansion and connectivity. Granholm talks about the jobs she’s expecting to stem from a new transmission line to be built in Utah, how to build resiliency into the grid, and how to transition to cleaner sources of power in a measured, stable way (FACT SHEET: Biden-Harris Administration Announces Key Actions to Strengthen America’s Electric Grid, Boost Clean Energy Deployment and Manufacturing Jobs, and Cut Dangerous Pollution from the Power Sector | The White House).

In Washington, mayors from cities across the country are asking Congress to do more for homeless Veterans. Many homeless veterans are ineligible for housing benefits because their VA benefits put them above a key income threshold. Our Washington correspondent talks with the delegation of mayors.

We’ll also look at the campus protests sweeping the nation as Israel continues to wage a war against Hamas in Gaza. As our correspondent found out, lawmakers are opening an investigation into the protests, while Utah’s own Mitt Romney wants to cancel student debt relief for protestors convicted of crimes.

Inside Utah Politics airs Sundays at 8 a.m. on ABC4.
