With just a few weeks until Signing Day on February 7, the Oregon State Beavers football program is still in search of double-digit commitments.
Oregon State signed 11 during the early signing period, and could double that number over the next few weeks.
But one of those players won't be Arizona Western College defensive tackle Tristan Nichols, who committed to Nevada over the weekend.
The 6-foot-4, 295-pound defensive tackle took an official visit to Corvallis in mid-November, but it wasn't enough to secure his pledge.
Oregon State has two defensive line commitments in the 2018 class thus far, as Southridge defensive end Bradley Bickler and California product Isaac Hodgins signed with the Beavers during the early signing period.
Expect the Beavers and Jonathan Smith to make a run at a few defensive linemen in the coming weeks.
But Nichols is off the board.
