The 2018 Jury of Fellows from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) elevated Edward Tucker of Edward Tucker Architects from AIA West Virginia Chapter to its prestigious College of Fellows, an honor awarded to members who have made significant contributions to the profession. The 2018 Fellows will be honored at an investiture ceremony at the AIA Conference on Architecture 2018 in New York City.

The Fellowship program was developed to elevate those architects who have made a significant contribution to architecture and society and who have achieved a standard of excellence in the profession.  Fewer than four percent of AIA members are distinguished with the honor of fellowship and honorary fellowship.

Through volunteer leadership, advocacy, and community activism, Ed Tucker, FAIA has improved the quality of life in West Virginia by promoting healthy and eco-friendly lifestyles, inspiring a sustainable economy, and nurturing new generations of leaders.

Nationally, Ed served on the AIA Board of Directors and the Finance and Audit Committee during the challenging economic years 2008-2010. He championed the re-purposing of millions of dollars in AIA initiatives to better serve members.

Ed Tucker has served on the Executive Committee of the West Virginia AIA Chapter from 1998-2006 holding two-year terms as a Director, VP/President Elect, President, and Director/Past President. Currently Ed is a member of the NCARB Architects Registration Exam 5.0 Item Writing Committee and is the Secretary of West Virginia’s Architects Licensing Board.
