COLUMBIA, S.C. (WSPA) – The South Carolina Manufacturers Alliance (SCMA) will hold a press conference on Thursday to reveal the 3rd Annual Manufacturing Madness: The Coolest Thing Made in SC contest winner.

The press conference is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. and will be held in the first-floor lobby of the Statehouse in Columbia.

The two-month-long contest was created by the SCMA and sponsored by BlueCross BlueShield on SC. The public was invited to nominate and then vote for their favorite products made in South Carolina.

166 products were nominated and narrowed down through weekly online bracket-style voting rounds. Officials said more than 218,000 votes were cast in the contest.

Sara Hazzard, President and CEO of the SCMA, Governor Henry McMaster, Mike Harris, VP of BlueCross BlueShield, legislative leaders and leadership from each of the Top 4 finalists’ companies will also participate in the ceremony.

The Top 4 products remaining in the contest are:

  2. High Noon Sun Sips, E. & J. Gallo Winery, Fort Lawn
  3. Fire Sprinklers, Reliable Automatic Sprinkler Co., Inc., Liberty
  4. Signa Hero MRI Scanner, GE Healthcare, Florence
