JAPAN : During the visit, key aspects of economic collaboration between Oman and Japan were meticulously reviewed. Talks centred around ongoing projects in Oman’s economic and free zones, including pivotal ventures like the low-carbon iron production initiative in Duqm.
The delegation’s agenda extended to meetings with prominent industry players in Japan, covering a spectrum from renewable energy equipment manufacturing to shipbuilding and hydrogen infrastructure.
The visit also offered insights into Japan’s expertise, notably at Yokohama Port, which is renowned for its capabilities in handling energy shipments and vehicles. His Excellency’s engagement with officials from Yokohama Port explored potential collaborations with Duqm Port, paving the way for mutually beneficial ventures in related sectors.

The trip culminated in fruitful exchanges with His Excellency, the Governor of Yamanashi Prefecture, focusing on cutting-edge hydrogen production technologies and energy conversion strategies.
Noteworthy was the earlier memorandum of understanding signed in 2023 between Oman’s General Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones and Japanese giants “Kobe Steel” and “Mitsui & Partners Limited.”
