Officials with the Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Office said at about 2:50 a.m. Saturday, a deputy spotted a vehicle stopped in the middle of eastbound State Highway 33, east of Kingfisher. The deputy activated his emergency lights, and the vehicle sped away, according to a news release.
The deputy continued to pursue the vehicle and called for backup. Another deputy soon arrived and stayed behind the vehicle, which eventually stopped at the intersection of State Highway 74 and State Highway 33.
One of the deputies attempted to open the driver’s door of the vehicle after commanding the driver to step out. The driver then took off, knocking the deputy to the ground, according to the news release.
The deputy hurt his wrist but was not otherwise seriously injured, officials said.
Another member of the Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Office joined the pursuit, where the driver continued eastbound on State Highway 33, reaching speeds of 120 mph and driving east in the westbound lanes of the highway. Officials said the driver drove the wrong way on the highway for about 10 miles.

The driver, who was driving a vehicle rented in Texas, was eventually stopped about 3 miles south of Stillwater and arrested, according to the news release.
She was booked into the Kingfisher County jail on complaints of assault and battery with a deadly weapon and felony eluding.
KOCO 5 is not releasing the woman’s name as she has not yet been formally charged.
