Thousands against President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk rallied outside the State House in Concord as part of “Hands Off!” a national mass-action protest, Saturday afternoon.
More than 1,400 protests of its kind took place across all 50 states to express dissatisfaction with recent Trump administration policies such as cutbacks on federal agencies, the firing of thousands of federal workers, new tariffs and human rights issues.

In addition to the Concord location, other rallies took place across the state, including Wolfeboro, Keene, Manchester and Portsmouth.
“I'm here today because I fear for our country,” said Katie Wood Hedberg, who was protesting at the Concord event. “I worry for our seniors on Social Security, and I am very terrified that we are pushing away all of our allies."
The retired nurse practitioner said last week’s tariff announcement, which sent market stocks plunging, heightened her concerns for the financial future of the country.
“We've been working hard to save for our retirement. But I didn't want to look at our retirement accounts this week because we have lost so much,” she said. “But we're fortunate we have retirement accounts. I think we're all going to be in for a world of hurt still for a lot longer."

Others at Saturday’s protest expressed similar concerns.
“We're heading for disaster. Unless something changes in a hurry,” Alex Pheonix said.
“Here [Trump] is increasing the prices by creating these atrocious trade wars. Personally, I see the cost of food and groceries to skyrocket,” said Kellor.
When asked about the nationwide protests, the White House responded:
"President Trump's position is clear: he will always protect Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid for eligible beneficiaries. Meanwhile, the Democrats' stance is giving Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare benefits to illegal aliens, which will bankrupt these programs and crush American seniors."
