Nebraska Softball vs. Purdue Photo No. 4

Nebraska's Jordyn Bahl (98) awaits her at-bat during the game against Purdue at Bowlin Stadium on Monday, March 31, 2025, in Lincoln.

Nebraska jotted down another run-rule victory brushing off Iowa on the road, 12-0, making a statement in Iowa City.

Once again, star junior pitcher Jordy Bahl (15-3) delivered from both sides, as she pitched and hit phenomenally.

Coming into the matchup, lots of questions persisted about the Huskers’ ability to win on the road. In Friday’s contest, they managed to put up seven total hits for 12 runs with only 20 at-bats.

Another massive second inning from the plate helped spark head coach Rhonda Revelle’s squad for the remainder of the game. On the day, Nebraska recorded a .343 batting average.

Bahl took the duties from the stripe today, as she recorded a 1.37 ERA. In total, she struck out eight batters, allowed three hits for no runs, through five innings.

After a scoreless first inning, Nebraska’s bats came alive. Junior center fielder Lauren Camenzind singled to left field, pushing the bases, allowing senior catcher Ava Bredwell to score.

Next batter up, Bahl hit a grand slam with the bases loaded, bringing home Camenzind, junior first baseman Bella Bacon and sophomore third baseman Sammie Bland.

After not recording a hit in the Huskers’ previous matchup against Purdue, Bahl found her sweet spot, with a grand slam, two recorded runs and four RBIs. She remains in the top 10 Big Ten batters, with a .438 batting average.

One out later, junior utility player Olivia DiNardo doubled down the left foul line, sending junior shortstop Ava Kuszak to third, sending second baseman Hannah Camenzind home.

In the top of the third, Nebraska started back quick where they left off, with a Bacon double to left center field, allowing Bland to score.

With only one out, Kuszak flew out to center field with two runners on, scoring Bahl and Camenzind with the runs.

In the bottom of the fourth, Nebraska resumed their aggressive hitting, with a Camenzind double to left field with two on, sending in Bacon and Bland.

Nebraska capped off the scoring with a Camenzind run off the bat of junior infielder Katelyn Caneda due to a wild pitch.

The Huskers improved to an overall record of 27-9 on the season and 7-2 in Big Ten play, with four more conference matchups remaining in the regular season.

Nebraska will be back home at Bowlin Stadium for another mid-week matchup against Creighton at 6:00 pm, before another three-game series against Northwestern.
