With squads announced and pre-tournament matches booked, it's time to start getting excited. This summer's World Cup is now officially under one month away.

While not every side has the capability of winning the tournament, a nice consolation prize is who goes out looking the best.

And so for this, the 22nd FIFA World Cup, designers of the kits have drawn simultaneous inspiration from the nation's famous kits of the past.

Germany and Colombia, for instance, have modelled their latest kit on their respective classics from Italia '90 jerseys. Nigeria and Spain's pay homage to theirs from USA '94.

England meanwhile have an away kit that immediately conjures up memories and images from the win in 1966. Even the squad's training top is a nod to the famous red, blue and white shirt from 1982.

So, to help you decide for yourself, we have put together a timeline depicting all 32 new kits that will be worn out in Russia next month.

Feel free to leave a comment with which your favourite is below. I think you'd be hard-pressed to top Nigeria's effort, personally...

Time Line

Kits of the 2018 FIFA World Cup

  1. Group A - Russia

The hosts, along with manufacturers Adidas, have drawn inspiration from an old Soviet Union jersey from 1990.

    Available here from Sports Direct.

  2. - Saudi Arabia

The Saudi Arabia kit will be supplied by Nike and released next month.

  3. - Egypt

This one may be popular on Merseyside...

    Available from JD Sports here.

  4. - Uruguay

The design of Uruguay's home kits don't tend to change much. This year's, designed by Puma, incorporates their famous "Sun Of May" emblem within the shirt's blue print.

    Available here on Kitbag.

  5. Group B - Portugal

European Champions Portugal have gone with a rather safe, classic design having seemingly abandoned their great maroon experiment of the late nineties/early noughties. Their jersey is available directly from Nike or here on Kitbag.

  6. Spain

The new Spain kit, manufactured by Adidas, draws rather striking parallels with the shirt worn for the 1994 World Cup in America. The away version of that shirt can be found on classicfootballshirts while their latest incarnation is available cheapest on SportsDirect.

  7. Morocco

One of only two Morocco World Cup wins came against Group B counterparts Portugal in 1986. Adidas - their sponsors then and now - have (probably not coincidentally) based their kits around the one from that tournament.

  8. Iran

Iran's only World Cup win came against USA in 1998. Their kit, like Morocco's, is manufactured by Adidas.

  9. Group C - France

France's new jersey, made by Nike, may raise a few eyebrows. They have gone for a deep navy with a simplified design theme.

  10. Australia

The Socceroos have qualified for their fourth successive World Cup tournament. You can find the kit they will be wearing for it here on Kitbag.

  11. Peru

You would be hard-pressed to find somebody who doesn't like this classic. Their latest incarnation, made by Umbro, is available here on Kitbag.

  12. Denmark

Denmark's jersey is manufactured by Danish sports brand Hummel and was only released to the public three days ago. As of yet, it is not available to buy but images and details are currently on the Hummel website.

  13. Group D - Argentina

Runners-up in the 2014 tournament, Argentina will be hoping to go one better this time around. Kit-wise, Argentina don't ordinarily change their design that much, but this year's incarnation - again made by Adidas - draws specific inspiration from their 1993 edition.

You can get it on the SportsDirect website here.

  14. Iceland

Having qualified for their very first World Cup tournament, Iceland have become everybody's second team. Their kit is designed by Italian sportswear company Errea.

    It's on Kitbag here.

  15. Croatia

Nike have gone for a bold red and white cheque design reminiscent of the Lotto jersey Croatia wore from 1996-1998.

    It's here on Kitbag.

  16. Nigeria

Nigeria probably won't win the World Cup. They will, however, be up there for the prize of best shirt.

Despite this, replicas of the shirt are hard to come by through official sportswear store but plenty are available through eBay.

They will be available for official release on the Nike website soon.

  17. Group E - Brazil

Let's be honest, it wouldn't be a World Cup without this sight.

Although made by a different manufacturer, Brazil's kit conjures up memories of the classic Umbro jersey they wore during their World Cup success of 1994 that is available from classicfootballshirts.co.uk

Their latest version is available here.

  18. Switzerland

The clean and simple design for the Switzerland jersey has been designed by Puma.

Cheapest place you'll find it is here.

  19. Costa Rica

The Costa Ricans will do well to replicate their success of 2014 when they reached the quarter finals before being eventually beaten on penalties by the Netherlands. Their kit is designed by New Balance.

It's on the Sports Direct website.

  20. Serbia

Serbia's kit was made by Umbro and released last month. You'll do well to find a copy for purchase online.

  21. Group F - Germany

Out of the many classic Germany kits of the past, they've chosen to replicate the vintage 1988-1990 jersey worn by West Germany when they won the tournament for a third time. They go into this summer as both holders and favourites closing in on Brazil's record of five titles.

The old Germany kit is available from classicfootballshirts. The new Germany kit is available cheapest from SportsDirect.

  22. Sweden

Having wrestled a place from Italy in the qualifiers, Sweden's kit - made by Adidas - is slick and simple.

It's available here if you want it.

  23. Mexico

The first kit to be leaked for this year's tournament, Mexico have used a green, two-tonal design. Their shirt, like Sweden, will also be made by Adidas.

Cheapest site you'll find it, again, is SportsDirect.

  24. South Korea

This is now the 9th World Cup in a row that South Korea have qualified for. Their best performance came when they co-hosted the tournament with Japan in 2002 and were knocked out in the semi-finals.

Their latest kit can be bought here on Kitbag.

  25. Group G - Belgium

Inspired by their 1984 kit, Belgium are considered one of the dark horses of this summer's tournament having seemingly amassed a squad capable of challenging just about anybody. This summer's kit, designed by Adidas, is available for purchase here.

  26. Panama

Panama, along with Iceland, are making their World Cup debut so there has been no kit precedent set by previous teams in their history. This is the jersey they will be wearing when they face England on June 24. It's one of the few World Cup tops out there that you can buy now for under £50.

  27. Tunisia

Tunisia are back in their first World Cup since 2006. Their kit is designed by German sportswear brand Uhlsport and can be bought from KitBag.

  28. England

Home and away jerseys, along with all training gear are out and available to buy from nike.com.

Cheapest place you're likely to find an official Three Lions top online is SportsDirect.

  29. Group H - Poland

Poland's latest shirt is manufactured by Nike. You can get it here.

  30. Colombia

Yellow with a splash of red and blue. You can always rely on the South Americans to add a bit of colour to the games.

The design for Colombia's latest shirt - made and designed by Adidas - harks back to their iconic jerseys of the 1970s and 1980s. Get yours here.

  31. Senegal

Having dropped UAE sportswear company Romai Sports, Senegal's World Cup shirt will be made by Puma.

  32. Japan

    It's here on SportsDirect.
